Ship repair is the yard's job in six SOPs: arrival and docking against the berth plan and the tidal window, dry docking on a verified block plan, a kickoff that turns the owner's specification into work packages by discipline, subcontractor onboarding to fill the gaps, a quality inspection that runs from self-check through independent QA, NDT and the class surveyor to customer acceptance, and a handover that closes the punch list before the vessel departs. The hot work and confined space permits, the 24/7 emergency line and the change order run beside a docking rather than inside it.

Instrumentation services follows one instrument from requirement to a calibration interval adjusted on drift evidence: selection from process conditions, installation under permit with a loop test, calibration and documentation with as-found and as-left readings and a certificate an auditor can follow, and the planning SOP that sets criticality and interval. Marine electrical is the contractor's route: certified technicians mobilized to site, cabling and panels installed to approved drawings, a test list the installation must pass, and energization and commissioning under a signed approval; the turnkey project, high-voltage work and the design change sit around it.

The three share what every industrial site shares: permit to work is cross-listed from the generic safety family beside the yard's own permit SOPs, maintenance holds the generator and motor service and the calibration planning a service contract runs on, and project delivery holds the two end-to-end delivery SOPs next to the generic governance, change and closure templates. The library covers mobilization, execution, inspection, commissioning, punch list and handover on a customer's existing asset. It does not cover the contractor's own bid: every tender and award template is the buyer sourcing a supplier, and there is no site establishment, inspection and test plan or claims procedure.

Prove the work to the customer, the class and the permit

A service company's process ends with someone else's signature: a class surveyor's, a responsible engineer's energization approval, a customer's acceptance of a calibration certificate. These SOPs draw the route to that signature with the gates in the order they are actually held, the permit before the hot work, the de-energized checks before commissioning, the as-found reading before any adjustment, so the dossier at handover is the record of the job rather than a reconstruction of it. They are three companies' operating procedures generalized into editable starting points; adapt the certifications, the permit system and the class requirements to your site and your customers.

Ship repair

Ship repair is the yard's core job: bring a vessel alongside or onto the blocks, turn the owner's specification into work packages the workshops and subcontractors can execute, prove every repair to QA, class and the customer, and send the vessel away with a closed punch list and a dossier. Marine electrical

Instrumentation services is the work of a provider that specifies, installs, calibrates and maintains process instruments on a customer's plant. Permit to work

Permit to work is the control system that turns hazardous work into authorized work: the people on site are inducted and briefed, the job is screened and assessed, isolations are applied and proved, an authorized person issues a time-limited permit at the worksite, the atmosphere is tested and kept tested, and anyone can stop the job.
