Payments SOP, Workflow & Process Templates
Editable payment process templates for card authorization, clearing, settlement, disputes, fraud, merchant operations, reconciliation and incidents.
Follow a card transaction from the cardholder and merchant through gateway or processor, acquirer, card network and issuer, then continue into capture, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, disputes and operational exceptions. Each workflow is an editable starting point built around the actors and handoffs payment teams actually manage.
The card payment lifecycle is the spine of the hub. A transaction passes through a fixed set of states, initiated, authorized, captured, cleared, settled, funded and reconciled, and no single participant sees all of them; the five templates in sequence follow one transaction across merchant, gateway or processor, acquirer, network and issuer, with authorization carrying payer authentication and merchant risk screening as stages rather than as charts of their own. Tokenization and exception management protect and repair the flow beside it.
Disputes and chargebacks begin as a cardholder's question and, unresolved, become a chargeback that lands on the merchant's desk with a deadline; the four templates run from issuer-side intake to the merchant's representment, and the refund templates sit alongside because a refund issued in time is the cheapest way a dispute ends. Merchant onboarding and risk is the decision the platform keeps re-making as long as the merchant transacts: application through KYB and underwriting, the risk tier and its controls, the technical integration, and the monitoring that feeds back into the profile.
Three things the library covers only as stages, or not at all: payer authentication such as 3-D Secure and capture appear inside the authorization and lifecycle charts rather than as templates of their own, and there is no payout or bank-transfer disbursement template. The finance & accounting hub holds the supplier payment run and the bank reconciliation a settled transaction eventually meets, and the security incident family holds the response when the payment system itself is what has been breached.
Document the whole payment operation, not one approval status
Payment work crosses real-time transaction systems, institutional participants and case-management teams. These templates keep authorization messaging separate from clearing records and settlement funds, show the response path back to the merchant, and preserve the investigation, evidence, reconciliation and recovery loops that written summaries usually hide. They are vendor-neutral operating models to adapt to your products, contracts, jurisdictions and current participant rules, not network rules or official procedures.

Process families
Card payment lifecycle
A card payment lives through a fixed set of states (initiated, authorized, captured, cleared, settled, funded, reconciled), and no single participant sees all of them: merchant, gateway or processor, acquirer, network, issuer and settlement bank each own a part. This family orders the five templates that follow one transaction through those states, and adds the tokenization and exception management templates that protect and repair it.

Disputes and chargebacks
A dispute begins as a cardholder's question about a transaction and, if it is not resolved early, becomes a chargeback that moves money back through the network and lands on the merchant's desk with a deadline. This family orders four templates along that path, from issuer-side intake to the merchant's contested response, and adds the refund templates, since a refund issued in time is the cheapest way a dispute ends.

Merchant onboarding and risk
Admitting a merchant to a payment platform is a decision the platform keeps re-making as long as the merchant transacts. Four templates follow that arc: application through KYB and underwriting to a tested account, the risk assessment that sets tier and controls, the technical integration, and the monitoring that feeds back into the profile. The institutional variant and the transaction-level risk, fraud and incident templates sit alongside.
