Student lifecycle: admissions, enrollment, withdrawal and learning support

Editable student lifecycle flowcharts: admissions decisions and waitlists, enrollment and fee clearance, learning support plans, and withdrawal with refunds and clearances.

A student's route through a school, college or university is a chain of handoffs between the applicant, the admissions office, the registrar, finance, student services and the academic department. These charts draw each handoff and the decision that sends a case back.

The chain starts with the admissions process: a completeness check, an entry-requirements decision, a committee outcome of offer, waitlist or decline, and a response deadline. An accepted offer becomes the enrollment process, where documents, fees, course registration and orientation have to be cleared before the student counts as enrolled.

Support does not wait for enrollment to finish. The learning support plan screens a concern, gathers evidence, agrees adjustments with the student or parent and reviews them on a cycle. At the other end, the withdrawal process separates the retention conversation from the deadline-dependent refund decision and the clearances owed to finance, housing and the library.

These are vendor-neutral starting points. Entry rules, census dates, refund schedules and support duties vary by institution and country, so rewrite each chart with the people who run it before using it as a procedure.
