About the company
Rheinmetall reorganized its defence portfolio in 2026. The former Electronic Solutions activities were split into Air Defence and Digital Systems, and the Naval Systems division followed the acquisition of NVL in February 2026.
This chart depicts the current defence divisions, selected published business units and the separately presented Power Systems activity. It does not backdate these branches into the company's 2025 results.
Five defence divisions after the 2026 redesign
Vehicle Systems covers military vehicles, with Logistic Vehicles and Tactical Vehicles as published business units. Weapon and Ammunition covers direct and indirect fire, protection and related systems.
Air Defence groups ground-based air-defence systems and has Systems and Effectors and Systems and Sensors business units. Digital Systems covers networked defence, with Digital Solutions and other published units.
Naval Systems became operational after Rheinmetall closed the NVL acquisition on 27 February 2026. It brings four German shipyards into the group: Blohm+Voss, Norderwerft, Peene-Werft and Neue Jadewerft.
Power Systems appears on the company divisions page with an asterisk marking discontinued operations. It is separated visually from the five continuing defence divisions; readers should not treat it as a sixth continuing defence segment.
