About the company

Deutsche Telekom AG is a Bonn-based telecommunications group with domestic networks, a majority-held US wireless company, European national businesses and enterprise IT services. Its 2025 report groups these by region, customer/product and investment task rather than by a single worldwide brand hierarchy.

T-Mobile US is a crucial boundary. Deutsche Telekom reported a 52.6 percent ownership stake at 31 December 2025 after accounting for T-Mobile US treasury shares. A group segment chart may show the US business, but that does not make the US listed company an internal department.

Regional operations plus enterprise services and investments

Germany covers German mobile and fixed-network activities. United States captures the T-Mobile US business, which has its own corporate identity and public shareholders. Europe contains other national telecom operations.

Systems Solutions addresses enterprise IT services under the T-Systems brand. Group Development manages selected entities and equity investments, while Group Headquarters & Group Services contains central and cross-segment functions.

The 2025 report says the operating segments are built on different principles: three are regional, one is defined by customers and products, and one by its investment-management task. Flattening them into a geographical hierarchy would misstate the operating model.

This is a segment diagram, not a full subsidiary register. Ownership of T-Mobile US is dated separately, and the chart does not draw the governance of that separately listed company as if its board reported to Deutsche Telekom's CEO.

Key leadership roles

  1. Timotheus Höttges

Chairman of the Board of Management, Deutsche Telekom AG — Segment branches are a reporting map, not asserted individual employment relationships.

How this structure supports the business

The diagram makes the group's mixed organization visible: large region-based telecom operations sit alongside enterprise solutions and a portfolio-management segment.

T-Mobile US appears inside the consolidated US segment while its separate listing and dated majority stake are explained. This keeps accounting perimeter and legal governance distinct.

Advantages and disadvantages

The segment map matches Deutsche Telekom's annual-report management view.
It cannot show all national companies, network functions and cross-border technology programs in one tree.

Interesting facts

  • Three operating segments are distinguished by region: Germany, United States and Europe.
  • Systems Solutions is organized around enterprise customers and products.
  • Group Development is organized around investment management rather than geography.
  • T-Mobile US is separately listed and majority-held, not a wholly owned in-house department.
