About the company

HHLA manages port terminals, hinterland transport and other logistics activities, while its Hamburg property portfolio sits in a separate Real Estate subgroup.

The City of Hamburg and MSC hold HHLA through Port of Hamburg Beteiligungsgesellschaft SE, which reported a stake above 95% in January 2026. Shareholders approved a squeeze-out of the remaining class A shares in June 2026, but HHLA’s August half-year report said registration was delayed by legal challenges. This chart shows operating structure, not a completed ownership transfer.

How HHLA is organized

Port Logistics contains the Container segment for terminal handling, the Intermodal segment for hinterland transport and the Logistics segment for related services.

Real Estate is a separate subgroup with its own non-listed class S share arrangement.

The two-subgroup structure explains why port operating results and property results are reported separately.
