Moving from UiPath Task Capture to QueryChart
Recreate reviewed process documentation from Task Capture exports. DOCX and JPG can be AI inputs, but native project migration is not supported.

The short version
- Choose the output before choosing the platform.
- A recorded task still needs review of roles, exceptions and business rules.
- QueryChart documents workflows; it does not run robots or record desktop tasks.

Explore an editable process documentation example
Inspect the roles and decision paths, then open the example to adapt it to your own process. This is a process map, not a task recording.
Define the work
The example starts with “Documentation need identified”. Add “Collect observations and source material” as a concrete action rather than a screen interaction.
Connect outcomes and exceptions
At “Process owner validates map?”, inspect the outcome destinations and preserve the rejection or missing-evidence route alongside the normal path.
Check decisions and handoffs
Inspect every route in the complete map, then confirm that “Publish agreed issue and schedule review” is the intended finished outcome and the responsible owner is clear.
Match the tool to the process deliverable
Keep the original Task Capture project and exports before editing. The official 2022.4 standalone documentation lists Word, JPEG diagram and Studio XAML outputs; check your installed version and export options rather than assuming every integration produces the same formats.
QueryChart’s file-to-flowchart input accepts DOCX and JPG. You can try a Task Capture Word document or diagram image as source material for AI reconstruction, then inspect the generated result. This is format compatibility, not a tested native Task Capture import: screenshots, layout, attachments and business meaning may not transfer reliably. No XAML or native project importer is claimed.
For a controlled fallback, transcribe or extract step labels, owners, decision outcomes and destinations into structured rows. Compare every path to the source, add missing exceptions and obtain a fresh review. Original recordings and approval history remain historical evidence; they do not become QueryChart versions.
How it works
Preserve original files
Retain the Task Capture project, Word export and diagram image. Check the export menu for your installed version. Keep originals as historical evidence.
Choose reconstruction or transcription
Try the DOCX or JPG in QueryChart file-to-flowchart, or transcribe the business steps into structured rows. Native Task Capture and XAML imports are not supported.
Validate the recreated diagram
Compare every label, owner, decision, branch destination and exception against the originals. Check instructions and supporting screenshots separately. An accepted file format does not guarantee a correct conversion.
Review a fresh version
Obtain a new process-owner review and approval where required. Share the agreed map and retain the old evidence; source approval history is not imported.

Frequently asked questions
Does QueryChart record user actions like Task Capture?
No. Create or import process information and review the editable workflow. QueryChart does not capture clicks or screenshots as you work.
Can QueryChart replace UiPath automation?
No. Keep an automation platform when you need RPA, automation deployment, orchestration, process mining or task mining.
How should a team check the map before using it as an SOP?
Walk through a real case and an exception with the process owner. Verify the roles, branch destinations and supporting instructions, then retain and share the reviewed chart version.
